4. Simple Setup

This section covers using NoahFace for the primary purpose of screening employees for elevated temperatures as part of their time clocking process. Employees with elevated temperatures can be detected and denied access.

Simple Setup

The simplest way to configure temperature screening for Time and Attendance applications is to configure a Temperature Screening Clock In Policy. This means that you are enforcing a policy that when an employee clocks in, their temperature must be below a defined threshold.

Select the Access Points menu and then the Access Point Types tab, and then either add or modify your access point type. For Time and Attendance applications:

  • Screen timeout. Set this to a higher than usual value (eg: 40 seconds) to allow time for employees to test their temperature.
  • Screen type. Set this to “Clock In/Out” or “Task Tracking”.
  • Screen details. Add any additional options you require for this screen type (eg: mode, tasks, etc), as well as any of the following:

For example, using the “Clock In/Out” screen, your Screen details might be set to:

mode=auto

With this setup, the screen flow on clock in is as follows:

In the case that an employee has an elevated temperature, they will see the following and an access denied event will be recorded:

As another example, using the “Clock In/Out” screen in no touch mode, your Screen details might be set to:

mode=notouch

With this setup, the screen flow on clock in is as follows:

In the case that an employee has an elevated temperature, they will see the following and an access denied event will be recorded:
